- I've found something I want to buy: is it still available for sale?

If an item is not available, the word "Sold" will display under the price instead of the "Add to Cart" button - we take items off the webshop soon after they're sold but sometimes they're there for a short time. You're welcome to contact us if you'd like to confirm availability of a particular item, as sometimes items are unavailable because they're being used in an event.

 

- I haven't bought vintage online before - how can I trust that Circa's products are real vintage?

Nicole Jenkins and Circa Vintage guarantee the authenticity of every item available for sale through the shop and webshop. You can purchase with confidence from one of Australia's most knowledgeable fashion historians, with over thirty years experience. Also, if you're unhappy for any reason we offer you a full refund for the items.

 

- Is my payment safe? I can't see a padlock.

Yes, during checkout the URL field will start with "https" denoting that it is quite secure. If you prefer, please see the next question for alternative methods of payment.

 

- I put some items in my shopping cart but now they've gone!

Shopping carts are automatically emptied if an order isn't processed within 24 hours. If you need longer than this, simply start a new order.

 

- I'd prefer not to process a payment through the webshop, or I'm having trouble processing an order. Is there an alternative?

Yes: email an order for the item(s) quoting the SKU and style. We'll get back to you asap and arrange payment. Credit card details are not secure when sent via email so a phone transaction is preferable. Please include your phone number, and we will phone you for payment.

Alternatively, payment can be made by direct debit. Please contact us to arrange this - your items are put aside for you until the payment has cleared.

Please note that the fastest way to process a sale is through the webshop and if another option is chosen, there is a risk that the item may be sold in the meantime.

 

- Can I pick up my order from Circa?

Pick up is no longer available as an option. If you wish to receive an item urgently, please let us know and we'll do what we can to meet your requirements.

 

- How soon are orders dispatched?

Orders are packed up and ready for posting pretty quickly as they're always our top priority, and we post asap, generally the same or next business day. Please let us know if your item is required urgently. Please note that we are not responsible for delays within the postal service.

 

- How long will my order take to arrive?

We use Australia Post Express Post, the fastest method. They deliver to central locations in Australian cities the next day and soon after for other destinations.

International orders should take between 3 and 15 working days, depending on location.

 

- I see the prices are in dollars. What currency is this?

All pricing is in Australian dollars. For converting to other currencies, we recommend www.xe.com.

Please note that we are not responsible for any customs fees for deliveries to your country. We complete customs forms according to Australian law, so please don't ask us to misrepresent any data.

 

- Can I try on an item from the online shop?

We regret that we no longer have a shop for trying on clothes but returns (with the exception of sale items) are accepted for any reason, so if you don't like it or it doesn't fit, simply send back within two days

. It's best if you can let us know so that we can keep an eye out for it and process the refund as soon as possible.

 

- I'm unhappy with my item: may I return it?

If you are unhappy with your item(s) purchased online, please return to PO Box 51, Flemington VIC 3031, within 2 working days, with the receipt and original tags attached and the item in unworn and unchanged condition. Signed delivery is recommended as we are unable to process a return and issue a refund until the item is received. Shipping will be refunded where the fault is with us. Sale items are not available for returns.

- Is Lay-by available?

No, lay-by is no longer available.

- What is Circa's privacy policy?

Circa Vintage Clothing respects your privacy and will not provide any of your information to a third party for promotional or any other purposes. We do use e-way, a third party payment processor, which provides a secure gateway. Please contact us if you'd like to know more.

 

Note that we reserve the right to alter prices from time to time, and also withdraw products from sale at our discretion. Thank you.

 

Glossary

Antique - item that pre-dates the 1920s.

Ballerina length - hem falling to slightly above ankle length.

Ballgown - full length formal dress.

Bracelet length - a three quarter length sleeve, designed to show off your arm jewellery or gloves.

Cocktail Dress - evening dress, usually of simple style with embellishments.

Contemporary - item that dates from the last twenty years.

Designer - item that is either labelled with a designer name or is attributed to a designer label.

Fit and flare - a style of dress, coat or jacket with a fitted waist flowing into a full panelled skirt.

New - item that is brand new and unworn and of modern date.

New Old Stock - item that is brand new and unworn but of vintage, retro or antique date.

Retro - item that dates from the mid 1960s to a date twenty years ago.

Tea gown - formal afternoon dress worn for tea dances in the early 20th century.

Vintage - item that dates from the 1920s to the mid 1960s.

Wiggle dress - a dress where the hem is narrower than the hips. Popular for afternoon dresses and cocktail dresses, particularly in the 1950s to the early 1960s.
