One of my favourite swimsuits is this charming stretch satin skirted style featuring a palm tree print and contrast banding. Bust panels and a slightly flared skirt, with straps that cross over at the back and secure with cute white buttons embossed with anchors.

Buttons are either made of ceramic or tin or an early plastic, it's hard to tell but they're original and a lovely feature.

The style is half-lined (below the bodice) in matching coral coloured cotton knit jersey. On the inside of the bodice is the name of the original owner in ink: Evelyn Zipkin (not seen on the outside).

This swimsuit featured was featured in the popular swimwear exhibition at the Ballarat Heritage weekend in May 2010.
